The whole "Trixie stays evil" and "Equestrian politics" stuff is something I can easily live without, and I can only imagine the huge backlash that would occur if Celestia and Luna were actually killed off. What are your thoughts on Lauren's original ideas? Are there any you would like to see?
Are there some things that your glad didn't come through? Email: g. HerpDerp An Everypony Regular. Joined: Apr 23, Messages: 31 Bro hoofs Received: 0. It would be nice if she had stayed, but because of "creative differences" between her and Hasbro, she just had to leave :- However, I am glad that Jason Thiessen and his crew are doing great right now. It's not every day the creator leaves and someone else takes over and actually succeeds.
Herp, the reason she left was due to her wanting to make the show she intially wanted to. Not because of MLP not being up to her standards. Lauren Faust didn't start out pitching an MLP reboot.
Hero Mode I like Rarity, that is all. I wish she stayed but honestly I still like the show even after she left so yeah there you go.
I don't think there is anything wrong with the show right now. In truth, she retired from the team because of how difficult it had been to supervise the episode production. Thank you very much for posting this! It makes me feel much more hopeful about the show's future. She loves the show, but still dreams of getting her own projects published. Now she is working on that DC heroines show. I can't remember the name. I've honestly been okay with how the show has been since she left.
Faust got it started but since she left the show has delved so much deeper into the personalities of the ponies and the episodes just have a different feel to them than the first season. I truly and honestly believe season 2 is better than season 1 in every way except the fact that it has less songs though I love the songs from season 2 more than season 1 for the most part. Faust created the show, but think of your 3 favourite episodes.
Those were written by someone else completely, the only episodes Faust helped write was the first two episodes of season 1 usually the least preferred of all.
I had the impression she wrote the first two episodes because they were the pilots, so the dialogue and characterizations could be a little stiff e. I think it's pretty clear to us why Faust was the writer out of the gate.
She was pretty closely involved, though. Other people might have done the writing, but it had to clear Lauren's desk first. To be honest, so far I feel that Season 2 has been the stronger season. So Lauren's non-involvement may have been for the best, from my point of view.
That makes me very hopeful for the season and or possible seasons to come. Although the idea of her getting screwed over by higher ends sucks, the show has not seemed to suffer much from it. And if the season 2 finale is as epic as it looks, that means Lauren will be going out with a bang. Mostly her name, but you know she was part of season 2 so I still say it's her work. During the first season, she used her DeviantArt page to reply to fans and address questions about the show. She later added a Frequently Asked Questions entry that collected these questions and answers. Shortly after the final episode of the first season aired, Faust announced that she had left the show. Her involvement in season two concentrated on story conception and scripts; it diminished through the course of the season.
Faust's professional credits extend from voice work in through art and writing and, by , directing and development of shows such as The Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. She is married to the creator of both shows, Craig McCracken. Feature Animation's The Iron Giant.
She is also the creator of the original toyline "Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls". Faust is listed in the opening credits of every episode and, until the end of season three, the closing credits, and in the writing credits for Friendship is Magic, part 1 and part 2.
Until sometime in October , Hasbro Studios' website listed her as the show's author, with her name misspelled as "Laurent Faust".
