Pll finale who is a

After seven seasons, Pretty Little Liars concluded in June of and the series wrapped with a jaw-dropping two-hour finale. In the end, the locals of Rosewood eventually got some closure as the identity of the show's antagonist was finally revealed.

But with so many secrets and lies ridden throughout the plot, viewers might still have some lingering questions about the Pretty Little Liars universe. Here's a breakdown of the series finale and who exactly ended up being A.

The girls were constantly working to put the pieces together and they finally got some resolution in the series finale. That girl has her hands full! A showdown at the underground lair ensues, with the tense stand-off resulting in Alex getting turned over to the police.

However, she then turned herself in to the police to save Spencer and the other Liars from serious jail time for killing Archer Dunhill and made Alex promise not to kill Spencer, so seemed to be working as a double agent.

This was contradicted, however, when Alex revealed she was going to kill Spencer after all and Mary got punched and left on the sidewalk after a very measly attempt to save her.

After the incident, the cop arresting Alex revealed he caught Mary a few blocks away, which seems to suggest - if he was telling the truth - that she was making a break for it instead of trying once more to save Spencer from being murdered, which seems a very self-serving move indeed. She certainly wasn't at the front of the house when the Liars arrived, anyway. Is she evil? Again, it's hard to say what her true intent was, as it wasn't properly explained in the episode and there may be another explanation as to what happened to Mary before the rest of the gang got to Alex's house see below.

While we were happy to see Mary and Alex get their comeuppance via the show's one true hero, Mona Vanderwaal, this was a bonkers last scene. The closing frames revealed Mona was living in Paris running her very own doll shop LOL and had Mary and Alex trapped in the basement having a tea party, but how did she get them there?

Well, eagled-eyed viewers spotted that Mona's hot new boyfriend actually posed as the 'cop' that arrested Alex so they never actually went to jail. Out of all the remaining mysteries, this is the one we struggle with the most. The series finale revealed Alex's adoptive British parents were extremely wealthy and upper class, which was confusing, given Alex Drake had the accent of an East-End market trader. In short, it was more Walford than Made in Chelsea — which should not be the case, considering Alex didn't start causing havoc until she was a pre-teen and lived in a very rich household up until then.

Oh, and the accent was also terrible. No-one speaks like that, alrigh' guvnor? The series finale revealed Alex had the major hots for Toby and was glad 'Yvonne was out of the way' so she could pretend to be Spencer and win him back. Hmmm, does this mean Yvonne's death was more sinister than first thought?
